What’s Buzz-worthy: This brand is a new one to the NASCAR lineup and it’s basically a deluxe version of Prizm. There seemed to be a bit more youth in the basic set of Grandstand cards while I didn’t find any of the rarer tiers. The double-memorabilia card is nice but simple — and the Newman swatch is odd in that it could be sheet metal or maybe a pit sign — it doesn’t feel like metal (if it is it’s matte paint) and almost seems like flat cardboard. (Other swatches for his cards show black and white swatches when it’s not fabric.) The Dillon swatch is clearly tire. This design is definitely a familiar on in its feel, so as long as you’re comfortable with it and its colorful Pulsar parallels you’ll probably be comfortable with this one. For the price, it seemed like it delivered enough — it just wasn’t that flashy.
