What’s Buzz-worthy: This Target-only release is different than its hobby counterpart that has one autograph per pack in that this one is one massive 73-card pack that includes a Relic every time. There are parallels and an autographed version to help mix things up but those are as high as one in 69 boxes (ink). The Shirt Relics seem easier to pull than the Mat Relics in this one, at least based on the odds, while there are also Dual Relics and parallels there. This one is also similar to Topps’ Women’s Division set in that it uses a familiar past design or two in similar/new ways for the release. The base (Roster) set is similar to others where a studio shot sits atop a texture with parallels, while the Matches & Moments cards once again use the Road to WrestleMania design (a third time this year) to focus solely on NXT moments. (That’s curious  in that the Women’s Division has its own NXT set — may create some confusion for collectors — but not a huge deal because they work.) Rounding things out in this one are a handful of parallels in a box (something the Women’s Division set needs) and the hit. All in all, if you’re a fan of the young names in the NXT ranks, this is one to consider to rip a few times to build your base set after tearing into some hobby. (Working in some standard auto cards would make this one a bargain no-brainer if you can’t find hobby in your location.) With this being a one-chain retail-only release, the hits could end up being rare in the long run — if some of these names truly arrive on the main roster.
