The Basics:
There will be inserts and parallels from as many as seven different brand names in this one with as many as seven RCs per player from this year’s popular crop of newcomers. There will be Chronicles Rookies, Donruss Rated Rookies, Contenders Rookie Tickets, Prizms, Spectra Rookie Jersey Autographs, Gold Standard Rookie Jersey Autographs (/199 max) and Absolute Rookies. There will be on-card rookie autos in the Spectra and Gold Standard cards — those are also the first baseball cards for those brand names. Absolute also returns for the first time since 2005. … Each box will include eight numbered cards (a mix of base or inserts/parallels), while Mickey Mantle will be found on Chronicles Base, Chronicles Swatches, Prizm, Triple Threat Materials, Gold Standard Base, Tools of the Trade Double/Triple/Quad/Five cards. … Spectra rookie jerseys will have six parallels. … The basic Chronicles set will focus on players’ highlights on the horizontal design seen in the gallery below, while Chronicles autos will be signed vertical versions of those cards. … These will carry a suggested retail price of $8 per five-card pack ($96 per box). This brand also will be found at retail — previously published early details are here.
