Perhaps it’s just the countdown clock to Halloween ticking more loudly, but there’s something I’ve noticed more and more lately out and about and in the world of comic book and movies merchandise.
Candy bowl holders.
They’re apparently a thing — and they’re available for quite a few iconic characters in the comics and movies worlds. The Groot you see here? He’s not cheap — $68.96 at Amazon — and he’s not alone.
Not all of the candy bowl holders are as expensive as that particular guardian of the candy, but you can find Freddy Krueger, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, The Joker, Yoda, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Venom, Superman, Batman and so many more characters.
Most of these are created by Rubie’s Costume Company as a perfect seasonal accessory to all that gear they sell for the big day this month. They’re typically between 16 and 20 inches tall and made of molded plastic and foam. They typically won’t cost you as much as Groot with many of them selling for around $35.
