What’s Buzz-worthy: If all Triple Threads looked like this box, I’d buy them all day long. That was my first thought sitting back looking at the results of this one, which included some big names on the base cards, a 1/1, a patch and then two young stars with popular teams. Yes, there are better boxes out there with all those crazy patch booklets and deca creations, but this one was still an interesting rip. (And, yes, there are probably boxes that don’t deliver as well as this one.) The printing quality and cutting here is crisp and flawless, making this a high-end brand perfect for the grading game, too. The mix of past and present players also helps here with a smaller-sized base set and occasional retro hits that help bolster the overall feel. With some luck, you can land some truly legendary cards in these boxes.
