The Basics:
Gem cards will take on a few themes this year with nicknames, alma maters, USA Baseball, milestones and All-Star themes applied to the cards featuring diamonds, sapphires, rubies and more. Gems will be limited to no more than 20 copies per card. … This year’s hot rookie class will be found here on on-card autos maxing out at 25 copies per card, while legends get their time on cut auto cards — a lineup that will include the likes of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ty Cobb, Roberto Clemente, Jackie Robinson, Mickey Mantle, Honus Wagner, Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams and Jimmie Foxx. … Mantle makes his Flawless debut here with four base cards, 20 cut autographs and three different memorabilia cards. … Rookies will have a number of parallels — Ruby, Black and Emerald among them — with patch autos and dual patch autos. Meanwhile Flawless Finishes autos will spotlight big names on cards that will come simply signed as well as versions with dual-mem, jumbo mem and dual-autograph versions. … Flawless Cuts Memorabilia cards will have “an incredible checklist” with cut autos and memorabilia pieces for the biggest names. Meanwhile, Legendary Trios will group big-name memorabilia.
