Comic Book Certification Service has a new owner.
It’s Beckett Media and CBCS will join the Beckett brands alongside Beckett Grading Services and Beckett Authentication Services.
“The entire CBCS/Beckett team is committed to growing the hobby, both in North America and internationally,” said Jeromy Murray, Beckett’s VP for grading and authentication. “We can’t wait to begin connecting with comics collectors and retailers at shows, conferences and hobby shops world-wide.”
Based in St. Petersburg, Fla., the company was co-founded by Steve Borock, CBCS’ president, and he said in a prepared release that the Beckett infrastructure is perfect to help it grow its reach within the grading and certification world. Brock, CEO Michael Bernstein and other key staff members will remain in Florida with the news.
“Today is an exciting step forward for CBCS and the comics community,” Borock said. “Infusing Beckett’s trusted brand and its talent in technology, marketing and global expansion into the market creates an even greater opportunity for CBCS to serve our great hobby.”
