Autographs (1) – Luis Severino redemption (/TBD … a 2014 Bowman Chrome Prospects auto /68 after redemption)
What’s Buzz-worthy: These encased buyback cards aren’t wrapped in any way inside the boxes so once you flip the lid you know what you have — unless you get a box like this with a redemption inside. The good news on this one is that it could be a rarer 1/1 auto for Severino once it’s actually delivered — or maybe even a signed Relic. (That could be the case as all of his active cards from this one on eBay are higher-numbered autos.) The bad news? It’s a redemption in a buyback product. There are a ton of big cards in this one with signed Rookie Cards and other cards and the signer list has some highlights for sure. Severino isn’t the only redemption in these — Corey Seager and Bryce Harper are, too — but they’re a tad more high-profile than he is. We’ll crack this one out of the case, scratch it and redeem this one soon to see what comes back — and update this piece at that time. If it’s a biggie, we’ll give it away right here. Other signers here include Aaron Judge, Andrew Benintendi, Kris Bryant, Carlos Correa, Manny Machado, Yoan Moncada, Buster Posey, Albert Pujols, Ichiro Suzuki and Mike Trout to name a few. Bummer boxes here aren’t the norm.
Product Grade: A
Box Grade: C+ (could be higher once redeemed and received … grading optimistically)
Fun Grade: C- (redemption makes this one a stone-cold bummer)
