What’s Buzz-worthy: It’s a Hot Box but the Purple Refractors are about all that one had going for it other than a couple of notable names among the inserts, Swanson and Bryant. Heritage High Number can have its highlights — if you pull a Cody Bellinger base card or parallel, you’re good — but there just aren’t a lot of base cards of (big) note in this one. There are a ton of rookies, though, so some could emerge like a Matt Olson, who ended the year with 24 homers. (He’s in there, but not in this box.) The Hot Box made for some drama when opening the packs — Bellinger is in that one-per-pack lineup — but it was not to be in this one. Ripping hobby boxes are probably safer here because there are some serious names potentially to be found in autographs and every box includes an auto or Relic along with other touches not found in blasters.
Product Grade: B (thanks to the autographs)
Box Grade: C (thanks to the Hot Box)
Fun Grade: B- (thanks to the Hot Box)
