If you hadn’t noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices right now over on the mothership as BlowoutCards.com is in the midst its Black November sales now.
Wave 2 is here and many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases — and here are five boxes/cases that caught this collector’s eye.
2017 Topps Update Jumbo boxes and cases
This relatively new release is simply a fun one that’s stacked with Rookie Cards and moments from the All-Star Game and Home Run Derby. This collector has ripped hanger boxes, blaster boxes and standard Hobby boxes and many of them have delivered good volume on those guys named Bellinger, Judge and even on the variations. (They don’t have to be rare to be fun.) I haven’t studied the jumbo breaks closely, but one auto and two other hits at this price makes for a fun rip — and if you get lucky you could do pretty well. While this might be a brand that seems somewhat plentiful now, once wax dries up there will be enough key players here to make it of interest later — and basic Topps flagship RCs seem to be growing in popularity, too.
2017 Panini Absolute Racing hobby box
This debut edition of Absolute for NASCAR is one that follows the formula from past years but with some truly epic jumbo patch possibilities that you’d only expect to find in the pricier super-deluxe boxes. Those crazy swatches aren’t always crazy-priced, but the fun factor is there with a hit-per-pack like this that you can get that high-end feel inside but without breaking the bank. You’ll land two autographs and two memorabilia cards per box every time here.

2017 Historic Autographs Fame & Photo signed 8×10 box
Don’t let the Weekly World News tabloid cover homage on the front of the box deter you — look closely at the autographs. All of those are potentially found inside this one, which includes an celebrity autograph per pack. (Cases have 20 packs if you want to really dig in.) Curious about who made the cut to be found in this one? Check out the full list here. The lower these go, the better the big pulls get and the safer the lesser autos hurt. Forget the financials, though, this one is just fun with so many possibilities inside.

2009 TRISTAR TNA Knockouts wrestling blaster box
Ever seen a blaster box at less than $5 that includes an autograph inside every single time? You have now. And if you buy a lot (case equivalent), it’s a blaster under $4. The signers list here is relatively comprehensive for the promotion at the time with ink from TNA’s top names. If you’re a wrestling fan in general, this is a fun way to rip into some wax and have a bunch of autos afterward. There are dual- and triple- and even quad-auto cards possible in these boxes.

2013 Panini USA Baseball Champions wax boxes & cases
Buzz has busted a number of these boxes in the past simply because they deliver a number of autographs and memorabilia cards per box — at least five (two autos, three mem) and occasionally more. While this is a bit of a historical release with big names from the past of USA Baseball — autos can include Roger Clemens, Will Clark, Mark McGwire and many more — it’s also partly a prospecting brand with USA ink for guys like Kris Bryant, Corey Seager and Francisco Lindor among others. There are jumbo flag patches, bat knobs and plenty more possible in these boxes.
And there’s more …
There’s plenty more among the Black November sale items in the new (and past) wave — check ’em out here — and we’ll have several more to come leading up to Black Friday. Buzz will be here each time to pick highlights and budget breaks from the bunch.
