Black November Wave 6 is here … and here are five deals to consider

If you hadn’t noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices right now over on the mothership as BlowoutCards.com is in the midst its Black November sales now.

Wave 6 is here and many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases — and here are five boxes/cases that caught this collector’s eye.

2016-17 Panini Threads NBA hobby boxes & cases
Threads is a simple formula but it’s a comfortable one with two hits per box — one autograph and one memorabilia card — and a feel that’s more deluxe than, say, NBA Hoops but still with some of the basics that give it a good collectable feel. (Check out this past break.) You can land ink from the likes of Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony here along with ink from the rookies, too. The memorabilia cards can include Hall of Famers, too, like that past break does, helping offer some extra scope for a price that’s now pretty low. It’s worth a rip for sure and it leads off this round of picks from this collector.

2009 Upper Deck Signature Stars baseball hobby boxes & cases
Want a box that’s got a lower-end price but some strong possibilities? This is it and it’s got a decent discount to go with it in this wave. What’s big here? Bryce Harper USA Baseball autographs — on a few different cards — along with ink from Manny Machado, Ken Griffey Jr., Derek Jeter, Chipper Jones, Sonny Gray, Roy Halladay, David Price, Joe Mauer, Jon Lester, Daisuke Matsuaka, Trevor Bauer, Felix Hernandez, Robbie Ray and many others. Also in play here are a few multi-auto cards — quads and triples — that can give you several names all on one card. There are also some interesting memorabilia cards that aren’t 1/1s like cap patches and jumbo patches thanks to the USA Baseball presence as well as some inserts from UD Black that give this one a little more deluxe feel at times. This one includes four hits per box and you can do the math on that per case before checking the price there.

2017 Super Break The Bar Pieces of the Past boxes & cases
This one is a very different kind of pick in that it’s one that can include big-hit potential but it’s also one that’s bound to be informative as most of the cards profile notable Americans from the past — a mix of historically significant people and presidents. The hits here include pieces cut from documents — with photos from the documents on the backs of the cards — cut signatures, metal cards and other inserts that are rare and have captured the interest of historical- or political-minded collectors. There are Hot Cases with cut autos in every pack, too.

2014 BenchWarmer Eclectic trading cards boxes & cases
If you’re a regular Buzz reader, this is a predictable pick as you’ve seen this one broken down a time or two. Basically, this is a repack product with 60 past packs from various releases and then a pack of new hits worked into the mix. While they’re guaranteed to include eight hits the past packs can yield surprises, too, and I’ve personally seen as many as 18 hits come out of these boxes. They won’t always be pricey but if you land one name on a key card, that box (and maybe others) is paid for. Just some of the names from TV and film here include Carmen Electra, Kara Monaco, Maria Kanellis, Candace Kita, Sara Jean Underwood, Brooke Burke, Brande Roderick, Gena Lee Nolin, Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt, Kendra Wilkinson, Victoria Fuller, Nadine Velasquez, Lisa Dergan, Jessica Canseco and Traci Bingham to name a few.

2012-13 Panini Certified hockey hobby boxes & cases
Foilboard and hockey work for me and that’s one reason this one makes the cut here. That and four hits per box at less than $30 a box. You’ll land at least one auto along with four inserts and parallels in the 10-pack box — but there’s an added bonus — you can find one Hot Box per eight-box mini case with extra hits and parallels so that can also be in play if you’re buying single boxes. All in all, these things just add up to a fun break without spending too much.

There’s plenty more among the Black November sale items in the new (and past) wave — check ’em out here — and we’ll have several more to come leading up to Black Friday. Buzz will be here each time to pick highlights and budget breaks from the bunch.
