What’s Buzz-worthy: Once you flip open the lid of this box you’ll instantly know if yours is a winner — and this one was just that with a 1/1 auto from a Hall of Famer. The previous release from this line was only of active players, while this one includes on-card autographs on buybacks from past MLB players and it’s a crop that includes Hank Aaron, Roger Clemens, Carlton Fisk, Tom Glavine, Roy Halladay, Reggie Jackson, Derek Jeter, Chipper Jones, Sandy Koufax, Hideki Matsui, Paul Molitor, Cal Ripken Jr., Brooks Robinson, Alex Rodriguez, John Smoltz, Jim Thome and others of note. Meanwhile, you will find lesser-value autos for guys who made their marks in the postseason like Keith Foulke, Kent Hrbek, Ray Knight, Jesse Orosco, Frank Viola and others. This one can be a big win if you land a name like this — and there have been cases on the forums where people have pulled as many as six 1/1s of Hall of Famers — or you could end up with a card of Chris Sabo. The safest way to chase big-flip cards is to rip a 20-box case, but if you’re a collector who just wants to add some new autographs then this one has very good potential for the price. A number of the big players have a number of 1/1 cards, further helping their values as player collectors chase their guys. All in all, this one is fun when you get a box like this one — and it’s possible — but it could be rough at times when you land Pat Borders, Jeff Conine or Ron Cey. It’s worth the risk to rip at this price if you ask me.
