What’s buzz-worthy: Back for its sixth year, the flagship for Topps’ American soccer presence will arrive with nods to the 1980s but plenty of the energy and cardboard qualities that collectors expect today.

The Basics: The 1988 Topps baseball design gets a nod here with a Throwback Topps insert showing current stars and past greats, while All-Stars cards also offer a twist on a design from that time. Also new in this one? Cards for the LAFC expansion team. … The base set will consist of 200 cards with a number of parallel cards limited to no more than 99 copies. There also will be parallels for insert sets — Orange, Red and Black — all rarer than 25 copies apiece. … Crests of Honor Relics will include patches from uniforms limited to only five copies, while All-Stars and other inserts also will have rarer autographed parallels atop the unsigned versions. Details on numbering and specific shades of parallels were not revealed.
