Shohei Ohtani’s first MLB baseball card arrives via Topps Now

Update (Dec. 18): This card sold a Topps Now record of 17,323 copies.

The biggest signing of the MLB off-season so far is here on baseball cards.

The ink has dried on Shohei Ohtani‘s contract from Sunday but his marketing deal must be a tad fresher as his first baseball cards showing him in an Angels uniform are here.

That’s thanks to Topps Now.

Available for only 24 hours initially only via Topps.com, these cards will be printed to order, meaning if 1,500 cards are ordered then only 1,500 will be made. They’re $9.99 per card with quantity discounts available for as many as 20 copies at $79.99.

Three other recently tried players also made the cut as part of a four-card bundle today — Marcell Ozuna, Ian Kinsler and Stephen Piscotty — who get the famed 1972 Topps “Traded” stamp across their action photos showing their past teams along with the logos of their new teams. Piscotty joined the Oakland A’s today while the other two players were traded yesterday.
