What’s Buzz-worthy: This is a simple one with two 45-card base sets in one telling the story of Anakin Skywalker alongside the story of Luke Skywalker and then a rainbow of a few parallels   a few insert sets and then some of the most-interesting Star Wars memorabilia cards ever made — in that they may not be made again as LucasFilm reportedly doesn’t want prop/costume Relics being made today. The photography spans all films up to that time, while the parallels here fell just as they should with a simple but visible foil color change. The hits are the big star here with Ewok fur Relics, a Jabba barge sail Relic and the rarest being Chewbacca Relics, which feature pieces of replacement fur used in the filming. This box included one of the Ewoks — one found in every fifth box — which is actually rarer than pulling an autograph. The autos lineup here is stacked with Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Ian McDiarmid, James Earl Jones, Jeremy Bulloch, Kenny Baker and Mark Hamill among the 17 names on the checklist. (That’s more than half of the signed cards being notables from the original films.) Every box includes a Film Relic of some type with duals and triples also possible, while there also are printing plates. The inserts and base cards have a very simple Stadium Club-style frame and full bleed photography otherwise and overall that makes this one a very palatable release that’s still available and still affordable.
