What’s Buzz-worthy: This is a high-end UFC brand that this collector had dabbled with via pack-drafting in the past with some good results, so I figured I’d give it a try with a recent sale price of less than $10 a pack. Why? A hit in every pack with shots at ink and other high-end cards from Ronda Rousey, Georges St-Pierre, Rashad Evans, Miesha Tate and many others. In this case, there’s also one pack that includes a manufactured Relic instead of a hit — and this box included a rarer parallel of a notable name there. Meanwhile, the rarest card in the box was a parallel of Rousey. The hits included a number of names that made this a comfortable break for the price but ultimately the big-name highlights here are probably the Rousey and the metal card as well as the McGregor insert. At its original price, this might have been a slightly rougher box, but the Rousey card probably had more interest then vs. now as she’s eyeing a WWE run. (But maybe not given the scarcity.) One other notable card possibility here is one we didn’t pull but the first auto cards of Shayna Baszler and her Rookie Cards are also found here — and she recently made her WWE NXT debut. There are a number of other possible highlights so as long as you can find these reasonably priced a box buy isn’t a bad one — there’s safety in numbers with all the hits and inserts that are found. To me, this was a fun rip for the price that definitely showed those flashes of potential.
