What’s buzz-worthy: Flawless returns for another ultra-high-end season with some new touches and some new signers from NFL’s recent past.

The Basics: The base cards will once again be the gems here with the basic versions being limited to just 15 copies. (Nothing in the product will be higher than 25.) There also will be Sapphire (/15), Diamond (/10), Emerald (/5), Chocolate Diamond (/4), Canary Yellow Diamond (/3) and 1/1 Platinum parallels. … There also will be Rookie Gems Signatures with the standard cards limited to 20 with the same parallel rainbow. … Rookie Patch Autographs will have on-card ink here (like everything in the product) with a similar parallel rainbow, though the basic versions will be limited to 25 copies. There will be Silver (/20), Ruby (/15), Sapphire (/10), Emerald (/5) and 1/1 Platinum versions. … Also in the mix for this one will be patch autos, dual-patch autos and Signature Gloves cards that will have parallels, too, with types for these including Platinum, Ruby and Sapphire for starters. … Shield Signatures will be found with the NFL shields from player jerseys on 1/1 cards with their autos, while Red, White and Blue gems will have the appropriate stones for those shades. There also will be triple-patch cards ranging from 20 copies down to 1/1 with parallels. … Flawless Penmanship cards will include Emmitt Smith, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning and Barry Sanders to name a few, while new signers for this year’s Flawless will include Tony Gonzalez, Michael Vick, Chris Spielman, Ty Law, Tedy Bruschi, Jeremy Shockey, John Lynch, Mike Alstott, Drew Bledsoe, Brian Dawkins, LaVar Arrington, Jason Taylor, Zach Thomas, Morten Andersen, Priest Holmes, Rodney Harrison, Larry Allen and Michael Bennett among others. … The boxes carry a suggested retail price of $1,250.
