A young Boston Red Sox star’s first jersey is on the auction block.
That star is Andrew Benintendi and it’s a jersey worn and MLB-authenticated for his MLB debut on Aug. 2, 2016. Not only that, it’s also authenticated to a second game later that month by MLB and is believed to have been worn for his first career home run, too.
Presently up for grabs via Goldin Auctions with plenty of time to go before the final gavel (18 days from now), it opened at just $1,000. After four bids, it’s at a mere $1,400 … for now.
The jersey is MLB-authenticated to games on Aug. 2 and Aug. 24, 2016, and Resolution Photomatching has matched it to his first-homer game on Aug. 21 via spots on patches and the fabric mesh in relation to patches. (You can see images in the gallery below.)
