What’s Buzzing Today: Nothing but big breaks of new, old and the memorable.
The newest edition of Bowman Inception arrives tomorrow from Topps and that means autographs from the newest crop of prospects and rookies and plenty more without the sometimes-insane Chrome rainbow to complicate things when it comes to prices on the secondary market.
Don’t get the wrong idea that this one doesn’t pack the big names, though — it does.
This year’s edition of Bowman Inception is just a week away, and that means the latest round of Inceptioned insert cards, plenty of prospect autographs and maybe a few surprises.
Well, there won’t be as many surprises now since Topps has released the checklist.
With the first pitch he saw as a big-leaguer, Willson Contreras delivered and that might spark more future deliveries for collectors as he’s not got that much cardboard just yet unlike all of those other young Chicago Cubs stars.
His first pitch resulted in a pinch-hit two-run homer — and that’s resulted in his first MLB Rookie Card, a Topps Now card available right now and only for the next 20-plus hours.
But it’s not his only card — or his only card to come.
