Topps‘ priciest brand of baseball cards — 2016 Topps Transcendent Collection — included more than 50 autographs inside each of its silver briefcases but even more with the contents of one envelope.

The priciest box of baseball cards ever made, 2016 Topps Transcendent Collection, recently arrived packing 168 cards inside — 52 of those autographed — inside along with an invitation to a Jan. 18 party in Las Vegas to meet reigning National League MVP and World Series champion Kris Bryant.
That invite is arguably the big-ticket guaranteed item in every box and it includes hotel accommodations in Vegas, cocktails, dinner and a special gift in addition to meeting Bryant. To some fans, it’s the item to own. The priciest box of baseball cards ever made, 2016 Topps Transcendent Collection, arrives today with just 65 metal briefcases packing 168 cards — 52 of those autographed — inside along with an invitation to a Jan. 18 party in Las Vegas to meet reigning National League MVP and World Series champion Kris Bryant.
“Going to an event like this is every sports fan’s dream,” said David Leiner, Topps’ VP & GM of the North American Sports and Entertainment Division. “You can’t get this type of experience anywhere else. Whoever gets to go to the event will meet Kris Bryant in an intimate setting and talk to one of the best young players in today’s game. It’s going to be amazing.”
Every box of Transcendent Collection includes an invite and that includes accommodations, cocktails, dinner and a special gift, according to the company.

Buy a (pricey) box of baseball cards, meet the reigning National League MVP.
Topps revealed on Friday that Kris Bryant of the World Series champion Chicago Cubs will be the special guest at a private event next month — an event specially for those who buy a box of 2016 Topps Transcendent Collection baseball cards. They are the priciest box of cards ever made at more than $26,000 a box and include an invitation to the event.
The Captain’s autographs are coming back to Topps packs.
Former New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter has signed a multi-year autograph deal for his ink to appear in Topps baseball products. His first ink for the company since 2001 will be found in 2016 Topps Dynasty and 2016 Topps Transcendent Collection as well as2017 Topps products. Dynasty arrives on Dec. 7, while Transcendent arrives two days later.
“Adding Derek Jeter autographs to our trading card products will be thrilling for collectors,” said David Leiner, Vice President and General Manager of North American Sports & Entertainment at Topps. “He is one of the most-prolific and well-known players of our time, and his addition is one collectors will be clamoring for.”
