Not long ago, Cory Hahn was a USA Baseball player and a promising prep star who joined the Arizona State Sun Devils — the program that’s produced Dustin Pedroia, Barry Bonds and Reggie Jackson — with some big-league dreams of his own.
Now, though, he works for an MLB team — in the front office because he can’t walk, let alone take the outfield like he used to.
You might know Hahn’s story if you’re a prospector, but he recapped his story in a piece published today on The Players Tribune — one that looks back at a fluke play in just his third college game that changed his life forever. It’s worth a read.
“These days, I’m not much of a ballplayer,” he wrote, “although in my heart I always will be.”
