Blade Runner 2049 gets Funko Pop! and Dorbz toys with film’s release

Funko is hoping Blade Runner 2049 prompts a run or two to the toy store.

There will be toys for the stars of the upcoming film, a sequel to Blade Runner which was a cult classic from 1982 that starred Harrison Ford. He’ll be back in this one, though it’s Ryan Gosling who takes the lead in the story as Officer K.

Legendary Dr. Seuss characters coming to Funko toy lines

There would be a rhyme here but there’s no time here — the Funko news must be passed.

Simply put, Dr. Seuss is coming to toy stores soon thanks to the Everett, Wash.-based company as part of four lines unveiled Wednesday that help celebrate The Cat In The Hat, Sam I Am and so many more of the memorable characters from the children’s books that have sold millions of copies worldwide.

Funko readies dozens of exclusives for San Diego Comic-Con

San Diego Comic-Con is almost here and the crew at Funko has prepared more than 70 different toys, T-shirts and more that will only initially be available at the show this week.

There will be pieces from Star Wars, Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Disney, The Walking Dead and so much more in the company’s Pop! line, Dorbz and, well, so much more.

Funko launches Specialty Series for exclusive toys every month

jpeg-2A pair of new and exclusive Funko toys will only be found every month via the Specialty Series.

The Lynnwood, Wash.-based company revealed its new program while also noting its first two releases in a program that is basically a “hobby shop” vs. “widespread retail” approach that we’re all familiar with in the trading card world.

“You’ll only be able to find these Specialty Series exclusives in boutique retail, specialty stores, local comic book shops and from qualified online retailers,” the company said in a release. “This is your chance to help support local businesses and smaller retailers, and you’ll pick up an amazing exclusive item in the process.”
