This year’s San Diego Comic-Con is about a month away and Funko has already started to tease its exclusive toys that will be for sale at the show of all shows for pop culture and entertainment.
The Everett, Wash.-based company is releasing its previews in waves with iconic characters from Star Wars, Scott Pilgrim, Marvel, cartoons, DC Comics and TV shows already among those teased.
Metallica is ready to rock the toy aisle.
Funko revealed plans for its latest Pop! Rock toys on Thursday and they’ll feature the metal band that has sold more than 150 million albums.
The latest wave of Funko Pop! toys for the WWE will look like a million bucks and plenty more when it arrives beginning in July.

You may know Funko Pop! figures from the toy aisle, but in May there will be a reason to hit the comic book shop if you’re a fan of the big-headed and pint-sized stars.
May is Funko Universe Month — and there will be a number of variant covers and one-shots where the iconic stars of a few franchises will be found as Pop! figures on comics from IDW Publishing.
It’s a simple twist but it’s one that should get the attention of a new collectors.
