The Blowout Cards Forums are where thousands of collectors converge daily to discuss, well, a little bit of everything. Here are a few threads about collecting and more that you should check out right now.

That was the case Friday morning when the latest images from Sideshow Toys spotlighting its newest (and some past) Premium Format figures arrived in Buzz’s inbox.
They’re premium in size — in the case of Deadpool here 24 inches tall and 14 pounds — and premium in price. But, most importantly, they’re premium in appeal as they are ridiculously detailed in their varying forms.
She’s one of the comic book world’s biggest icons and a ferocious superheroine vampire — and her first story ever published back in 1969 is now in the hands of one of the world’s biggest comic art collectors.
She’s Vampirella and the original art — the complete seven-page story — from Vampirella No. 1 is in the hands of Thomas Fish, the owner of BlowoutCards.com. The artwork previously sold in May 2009 after it had been in the collection of its creator, Forrest J. Ackerman all these years.
“During the last comic art con in Secaucus, N.J., I had an opportunity to meet the previous owner and discuss this historic first appearance piece of comic book and horror memorabilia,” Fish said. “After some negotiation, we were able to come to a deal we were both happy with and the artwork is now part of my collection.”
The wait for the latest comic book blockbuster continues, but the wait for the new collectable caps does not.
Suicide Squad arrives in theaters on Friday, bringing a new group of DC Comics stars to the big screen for the first time but New Era has it covered already with the release of its Suicide Squad Collection today.
There are plenty of movies that are probably on the radars of collectors these days, whether it’s the newest sports movie or one of the countless comic book-inspired releases coming soon.
While there’s inevitably plenty to collect for these films before their arrivals, what we see first are the trailers and that gave Buzz an idea … something extra that gets ’em buzzing. Up first is Suicide Squad, a DC Comics-inspired creation arriving on Aug. 5 that we’ll see plenty of in the coming months. This trailer arrived yesterday — check it out and tell us what you think.
