The Simpsons’ ‘Springfield of Dreams’ autograph auctions to benefit Jackie Robinson Foundation

Three autographed baseballs representing a cult classic episode of The Simpsons and a subsequent “mockumentary” of the episode will benefit the charity of a baseball icon soon.

It’s all part of a Goldin Auctions sale of baseballs signed by those involved in “Springfield of Dreams” which aired last night as part of a 25th anniversary celebration of “Homer at the Bat” a year that also included honors at the Baseball Hall of Fame.

It’s Alex Rodriguez.

Once baseball’s highest-paid player, he’s a member of the 3,000-hit club and a player who hit 696 home runs during his at times controversial 22-year MLB career with the Mariners, Rangers and Yankees.

Buzz Poll: What’s your perspective on 2016 Topps Perspectives?

When 2016 Topps Series 1 arrives just a few weeks from now, it will include something different for baseball cards that is bound to have some people excited about the brand and one particularly unique set inside.

The insert is called Perspectives and it’s a 23-card set that features unusual angles and some visual wizardry — at least on on the Ozzie Smith card teased by the company on Monday.
