Funko readies four new toy lineups for football collectors

Funko has four new lines of figures and accessories coming later this year for NFL fans and there’s one way to know that these are a bit different than their past releases.

The hair.

The company teased its third series of Pop! figures as well as Wobblers, Dorbz Minis and keychains this week — two of those are new additions to the company’s lineup.

The recent arrival of 2015 Panini Flawless football cards marked a new wave of high-end cards for fans to consider and a new wave of impressive possibilities for autographs and dazzling memorabilia displayed within cardboard.

Sometimes it’s simple, sometimes it’s not.

Who might make the cut for First Pitch in 2016 Topps Series 1?

One of the surprises in last year’s Topps baseball card set was First Pitch, a collection of celebrities seen throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at MLB games.

It’s back for 2016 Topps Series 1 — a set that’s just 13 days away — and it’s still a secret as the checklist has not yet been revealed. (Nor has the design — so you can settle for last year’s Jessica Alba card above.)

But Buzz has done some research to perhaps discover who’ll be in this year’s set. We don’t know how many cards there might be, but they’ll be found a few times per box.

Carolina’s Josh Norman just might be the NFL’s best cornerback — do you have his autograph?

Josh Norman is a cornerback for the 7-0 Carolina Panthers and in his fourth season after being drafted 143rd overall to of Coastal Carolina back in 2012.

And if he’s anything like most other defensive players in the NFL he’s not on the minds of that many collectors.

Champ Bailey knows a bit about playing cornerback in the NFL, though, as a 12-time Pro Bowl selection and a member of the Hall of Fame’s All-2000s team. He sees big money in Norman — enough for us to wonder if he might be a football card collector.
