Black November Wave 6 is here … and here are five deals to consider

If you hadn’t noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices right now over on the mothership as BlowoutCards.com is in the midst its Black November sales now.

Wave 6 is here and many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases — and here are five boxes/cases that caught this collector’s eye.

2016-17 Panini Threads NBA hobby boxes & cases
Threads is a simple formula but it’s a comfortable one with two hits per box — one autograph and one memorabilia card — and a feel that’s more deluxe than, say, NBA Hoops but still with some of the basics that give it a good collectable feel. (Check out this past break.) You can land ink from the likes of Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony here along with ink from the rookies, too. The memorabilia cards can include Hall of Famers, too, like that past break does, helping offer some extra scope for a price that’s now pretty low. It’s worth a rip for sure and it leads off this round of picks from this collector.

MLB dominator Roy Halladay dies in plane crash at age 40

One of baseball’s most-dominant pitchers of the 2000s has died.

Roy Halladay, a two-time Cy Young award-winner in a 16-season career with the Toronto Blue Jays and the Philadelphia Phillies, died Tuesday afternoon when a plane he was flying crashed into the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida. He was 40 years old.

The right-hander from Arvada, Colo., was the 17th pick in the 1995 MLB Draft by Toronto and made his big-league debut three years later. He went 203-105 with a 3.38 ERA and 2,117 strikeouts in his career.

Black November Wave 7 is here — and here are five deals to consider

2013pnperedraftrbb

If you hadn’t noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices now over on the mothership as BlowoutCards.com’s Black November Wave 7 hits today.

Many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases — and here are five boxes that caught this collector’s eye.

2013 Panini Prizm Perennial Draft Picks baseball hobby box
Every box of this one includes four autographs, three inserts and six Prizm parallels — that’s not a lot and Panini America added more in subsequent Prizm releases but there are a couple of names that make this box notable at its reduced price. They are Kris Bryant and Mookie Betts and both of those MVP candidates can be found within the Prizm rainbow of autographs here. Others of note within these packs? Carlos Correa, Joc Pederson, Clint Frazier, Byron Buxton, Clint Frazier, Maikel Franco, Jose Abreu and Aaron Judge. The right rare shade here could be easy profits based on the box prices.
