What’s buzz-worthy: Topps takes its Stadium Club brand to the pitch with the stars of the Premier League for the first time with an energetic photo-driven look at the game that will carry just an $80 suggested retail price per box.

The second reveal from Panini America in regards to its National Sports Collectors Convention cardboard arrived on Thursday with a look at the company’s wrapper-redemption set.
It will be made up of stars and rookies from four sports — baseball, football, basketball and soccer. There will be autographs, there will be memorabilia — but those are for a later time.
Right now, it’s all about the basics.
If you hadn’t noticed, there are a number of cases with dramatically discounted prices this weekend over on the mothership and they were dramatic enough that Buzz had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of them.
So much so here are five that caught this collector’s eye.
The global game can spark global interest in cardboard and the latest Topps soccer release shows that with a simple glimpse at the big-hit potential seen via eBay auctions.
Many of us, Buzz included, might not know all of the names found in 2016 Topps UEFA Champions League Showcase, but the big potential really does outweigh the price.
What: 2016 Panini Flawless soccer cards
Arrives: May 25
Box basics: 10 cards — six autographs, two memorabilia, two gems — per box (two boxes per case).
What’s buzz-worthy: Panini takes the stars of the pitch to its highest of high-end levels — at least so far — with the debut of Flawless, which will include “a wide assortment of the world’s best footballers of the past and present with all players shown in action for either their club team and/or their national team.”

What: 2016 Panini UEFA Euro Prizm soccer cards
Arrives: May 4
Box basics: One autograph or Prizm limited to 20 or less along with more than 20 inserts per 24-pack box (12 boxes per case).
What’s buzz-worthy: Prizm returns to the pitch with UEFA Euro stars signing on and appearing on Prizm rainbows for the first time since Panini’s landmark World Cup release and in advance of the event’s start on June 10.

Soccer’s biggest star, Pele, will do a public signing with Steiner Sports later this month, giving collectors a chance to meet the icon and pick up some coveted ink.
The event is set for Nov. 24 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, N.Y., and run until 8 p.m. More information can be found here, while several items can be pre-ordered via the company’s website.
Prices for signed 8-by-10 photos start at $649.99.

What’s buzz-worthy: Back for its fourth year, the flagship for Topps’ American soccer presence will arrive with what the company calls “a consumer-friendly price point” while keeping three hits in every hobby box.
