Tom Brady Super Bowl LI family ring hits auction block via Goldin

A Super Bowl LI ring issued to a member of Tom Brady‘s family is up for grabs right now via Goldin Auctions.

The size 10.5 world champions ring weighs 77.3 grams and is identical to the one issued to the quarterback who led his New England Patriots to a shocking come-from-behind overtime victory against the Atlanta Falcons a year ago. It’s a 10 karat white-gold ring with 260 diamonds worked into the design.

It’s believed to be the first ring or award tied to Brady to be hit the open market, and bidding opened at $20,000 — and there’s already action with the bidding.

Buzz Poll: Would you buy a Super Bowl used confetti card?

super-bowl-li-confetti

The Lombardi trophy confetti you see here is reportedly from Super Bowl LI and it recently fetched some surprising money — $50! — on eBay.

And it’s not alone.

Maybe it’s just those rabid New England Patriots fans out there, but that got Buzz wondering …

It’s not been done before but it seems like everything else has made it into cards. Unless the NFL objects, it seems like it could be done quite easily.

Tom Brady is the greatest … just take a look at his autograph prices

s-l1600

You probably have seen all of the on-field superlatives that add to the legacy of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and that debate that’s really not a debate at all.

If he wasn’t already (he was), his team’s overtime victory in Super Bowl LI solidified that status on Sunday night in Houston — but that’s not the only way that it’s obvious that he’s the best.

The easiest way to know is to look at his autograph fees … and, yes, he still signs.

Ready for some Super Bowl LI commercials? Get a start here …

puppymonkeybaby-super-bowl-ad-2016-billboard-650

You probably won’t see any sports cards in commercials during Super Bowl LI, but there will be plenty of collectors watching those pricey spots and Buzz will share some favorites here as they arrive during the game.

Biggest question on my mind first is … will PuppyMonkeyBaby make a triumphant return?

Which one is best? Be sure to tell Buzz what you think here or on Twitter. For now, here are the early highlights.

Super Bowl Commercial: Buick
Buzz’s Take: “If that’s a Buick, then my kid’s Cam Newton.” (Spoiler alert: Your kid won’t be winning the Super Bowl then … too soon?)

Super Bowl Commercial: Kia Niro
Buzz’s Take: Melissa McCarthy follows up her epic Sean Spicer SNL spot with a Super Bowl commercial where she shows you how “it’s tough to be an eco-warrior.”

Super Bowl Commercial: T-Mobile
Buzz’s Take: Gronk flexes his acting chops and Bieber tries to class it up (or something).

More to come if you keep reading — and more to come during the game, too.

Who are Super Bowl LI superstars worth collecting? Most are obvious …

brady-ryan

If you didn’t know, Super Bowl LI is on Sunday with the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots facing off for top honors in the NFL — something the Patriots have done four times and something the Falcons have come up short at grasping one previous time.

We all know the household names here and that list starts with the quarterbacks, Tom Brady and Matt Ryan, but we also should all know that this is one of those games where an unknown and cardless player could become a postseason legend like Malcolm Butler two years ago.

So, who else should be on the radar of football collectors already?
