If you’re a certain age, you may remember Little Golden Books, which are beginning readers’ first licks at the literary world.
They’ve been around since the 1940s — and are still around today — but one illustrator has created a new take on these stories with a series of prints and a book that collects his past works all in one.
His name is Joey Spiotto and the Los Angeles-based artist is big on Storytime.
The Trading Cards are back — and this time they are in packs.
Long-time readers of The Buzz probably remember California-based illustrator Cuyler Smith whose Trading Cards bring the stars of the reel world (memorable sports movies) to real life using nods to memorable sports card designs from the past.
He’s back with a new show — and a new wave of cardboard — arriving on Friday.
The recently released Star Trek 50th Anniversary set includes plenty of ink with two autographs and a memorabilia card in every box but there are some interesting surprises inside the product as a whole.
Each 12-box case is guaranteed to include one of five Captain’s Autograph cards from the five leaders at the helm on each of the past TV shows — William Shatner as James T. Kirk, Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard, Avery Brooks as Benjamin Sisko, Kate Mulgrew as Kathryn Janeway and Scott Bakula as Jonathan Archer.
But that’s not all of note in this one if you look closely at the checklist.
New information has come to light, man.
Fans of The Big Lebowski and other Hollywood creations from the big and small screens may have an extra reason to visit the toy aisle or thanks to GreenLight Collectibles and its Hollywood line that has been bringing vehicles from the reel world to us all.
Ok … these specialty toys aren’t exactly new — they’ve been going since roughly 2011 — but there have been as many as 15 series so far and Walter Sobchak’s van was among them and that’s enough that Buzz needed to take a look.
And we’ve found plenty more cool stuff.
