Your Kevin Smith cosplay just got a lot easier.
The movie-maker, TV personality, podcast king and former convenience-store clerk who made the No. 37 more famous in film than on the football field has launched a series custom hockey sweaters that add just another dimension to his marketing machine that would make George Lucas proud. (Or sue somebody.)
The Kevin Smith Signature Series consists of 12 jerseys ranging from a few pop culture and sports parodies to blatant plugs for his films ranging from Clerks back in 1994 to a still-forthcoming flick called Moose Jaws.
An iconic 1990s movie is finally coming to cardboard — and it may be coming relatively soon from Upper Deck.
The Upper Deck Gallery‘s latest release is not even supposed to be here today.
A pair of prints for Kevin Smith‘s Clerks — the self-financed, filmed-at-night story of friends working at a convenience store filmed in a real convenience store — is the latest creation from the company in a series of pieces featuring past films and comic book characters.
“I absolutely love this movie. I hope it shows through in the drawings,” said artist Steve Stark. “The team at Upper Deck and I tried to put in as many references as possible. It’s the seed for the entire View-Askewniverse.”
When Upper Deck first teased its High Profile Fans cards of celebrities in its forthcoming 2015-16 Upper Deck Contours set, there was one notable hockey fan who got the attention, Chicago Blackhawks fan CM Punk.
Now, with the release of a final checklist, there are a few more.
