Topps’ Jackie Robinson Edition baseball sets from 2013 include shot at Superfractors, cut autographs

In 2013, Topps released a version of its flagship factory set with Chrome bonus cards of that Robinson card as well as rarer parallels and cut autographs in the mix. The set was one of a few options for those wanting to buy the set all at once rather than build it from packs.

Havana Sugar Kings don’t have many cards but hints of team can be found

One part of that history that might not be remembered by many collectors is the fact that there was once a minor league team in Cuba, the Havana Sugar Kings, that was a Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds and a member of the International League.

Twelve Major League Baseball players have granted their likenesses to be used as part of a prepaid debit card program that lets diehard fans have yet another card of their favorite and lets them show it off every time they make a purchase.

So, in other words, your Big Papi VISA doesn’t come with big-league cash — unless you put it there.

David Ortiz is among the players partnered with the True Stars Fan Club, an MLBPA-approved venture that promises baseball-related rewards and benefits to those who sign up for the program.
