What’s Buzz-worthy: The second series of this year’s flagship Topps set simply isn’t as flashy when it comes to the basic card checklist — they’re clearly waiting to have key rookies like Cody Bellinger in Topps Update — but the rest of what’s inside continues with what you found if you ripped into packs of Series 1. These retail boxes have a focus on Independence Day with a manufactured Relic and five guaranteed inserts that use the Topps Salute design but are a standalone Independence Day set. The inserts are where you’ll find the variety in this one and there’s some star power from the past and present there. You can expect this box to be similar to most though the MLB Network inserts here are found one in every three blasters (and one per box in hobby). An Aaron Judge 1987 insert is one of the biggest highlights in this particular box — both in the player and the set, which is arguably the top aesthetic inclusion here. We’ll have more to day here soon when we tear into a hobby box.
