Panini America unleashed the first looks at its 2017 National Sports Collectors Convention VIP set on Friday and it’s nothing but rookies from the NFL, college basketball and baseball.

It’s just the start of the cardboard plans that the company has for the NSCC, which is set to begin on July 26 in Chicago.

Leaf readies promo cards that pack some punch for this year’s NSCC

Leaf Trading Cards has revealed its plans for promo cards, wrapper redemptions and more at this year’s National Sports Collectors Convention and it’s got two of the biggest names in fighting facing off on its cardboard at the show.

Anyone who opens a box of Leaf cards at the booth will be entered into a daily drawing to win one of five Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor dual autograph cards made for the show.

While that daily drawing will be one for only a few, it’s not the only Mayweather-McGregor card to be found in Chicago.

This year’s big-name rookies are coming to the biggest show of them all via Topps‘ wrapper redemption program revealed on Tuesday afternoon.

PSA plans free custom slabbed cards & three game-used bat giveaways at this year’s NSCC

PSA has a couple of fan-friendly things to consider at this year’s National Sports Collectors Convention if you’re headed to Chicago.

If you visit the company’s booth, you can enter for a shot at winning one of three game-used bats, pose for a photo with the bat you prefer for your own baseball card, and have it placed into a PSA slab — free.

“The National Sports Collectors Convention is like the Super Bowl of the hobby, and each year we challenge ourselves to go bigger and better,” said PSA President Joe Orlando. “So, this year we’re giving away Frank Thomas, Derek Jeter and Kris Bryant signed bats, all game-used and totaling over $10,000 in value. Each bat is graded a PSA/DNA GU 10. And that’s just the beginning of what will be available at the PSA booth.”

Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. — it’s one of those what-if fantasy battles from the magazines of old that’s coming true.

And with a pair of upcoming card releases there will be a battle on cardboard, too.

Babe Ruth’s 1927 World Series ring — and more — hits auction block

Update: The ring sold for $2,093,926, while the contract sold for $2,303,319.

“Wild Thing” is cashing in.

Babe Ruth‘s 1927 World Series ring is on the auction block and its owner, actor Charlie Sheen, is closing in on a seven-figure payday with more than three days remaining before the Lelands.com auction closes on this and one other very, very big piece of memorabilia from MLB history.

“We have sold and seen many great pieces of sports memorabilia in our nearly 50 years in the hobby,” reads the auction house listing. “But this is without a doubt the finest piece of all.”

Here’s an image from a 2017 Topps Museum Collection break tweeted by @thedimwit this afternoon. That’s 12 laundry tag patches in one sitting and they were pulled by SCI Group Breaks. The tags include Bryce Harper, Anthony Rizzo, Javier Baez, Jacoby Ellsbury, Yu Darvish, Hunter Pence, Mike Piazza, Will Myers, Carlos Gonzalez, Carlos Santana and Manny Machado.
