 2018 Topps Heritage baseball cards
Arrives: Feb. 28

What’s buzz-worthy: Collectors can turn back the clock to 1969 once again with the arrival of Heritage, which continues with the what’s-old-is-new-again tradition that began back in 2001.

Keep reading for more as well as a full gallery of images.

The Basics: The basic set will once again consist of 500 cards with the last 100 cards being short-prints. There will be League Leaders, World Series Highlights, Topps News All-Stars and Rookie Stars subsets. Parallels this time will include a couple of new touches — a 100th Anniversary parallel with a foil stamp of the MLB anniversary logo used that year (limited to only 35 copies) and Magenta backs limited to only 10 copies. There also will be a black-border parallel limited to 50 and flip stocks are back, too, and are limited to only five copies per card. … There will be a number of variations and parallels to be found in this one. Back once again will be throwback uniforms, action images (hobby-only) and team name color swaps (hobby-only). There also will be mini variations (/100) for all cards and 100 cards from the base set will have Chrome parallels with a rainbow that includes Refractor (/569), Black Refractor (/69), Gold Refractor (/5) and Superfractor (1/1) along with Hot Box Refractors.

Real One Autographs also return for another year with on-card ink and Red (/69) parallels along with duals (/25) and Triples (/5). New this year will be Reggie Jackson rookie buybacks (/10) and Seattle Pilots autographs — retired members of that team that went on to become the Milwaukee Brewers just one year later. On the auto memorabilia front, there will be Clubhouse Collection Auto Relics (/25) with 1/1 Patch parallels along with duals (/10) with a 1/1 Patch and Flashbacks Auto Relics (/25 max) also with a 1/1 Patch version.

For standard Relics, there are Clubhouse Collection cards with Gold (/99) and 1/1 Patch parallels, while there also will be dual (/69), triple (/25) and quad (/10) cards all also with Patch versions. There will be cut autos for celebs and players of note from 1969 along with 1969 Mint Coins — Nickel (/15), Dime (/10), Quarter (/5) and 1/1 50-cent pieces — and 1969 U.S. Postage Stamp Relics (/50).

The standard insert lineup should be familiar to long-time collectors — New Age Performers, Then & Now, Baseball Flashbacks and News Flashbacks — along with a 1969 Topps Deckle Edge insert. Each of these will be found one or two times per box. Box-toppers will once again include ad panels (hobby-only) along with new 1969 Topps posters (/50) and 1969 Topps buybacks.

Retail Details Update: There will be Refractor Hot Box blasters for retail once again along with a retail-only set of 1969 Topps Bazooka All-Time Greats modeled after the 1969-70 set using today’s biggest stars. … Here are the details for retail pack options. Hanger boxes will include 35 cards and come eight boxes per tray and eight trays per case. Blaster boxes will include nine eight-card packs and 16 boxes per case. Jumbo packs will include 20 cards and come 108 packs per case. Loose-pack boxes will include 24 packs and have nine cards per pack and eight boxes per case.
