Tiger Woods is back in the news again — and it’s not for golf.
Naturally with this development, along with his lack of time on the PGA Tour, one has to ponder the future of his cardboard. As one of the most-decorated and sought-after golf stars of all time, there’s been plenty of money put into his cardboard. He’s definitely also been one of the most sought-after autographs of anyone in the sports world … but now this.

There have been plenty of USA Baseball products in the last decade and this one is the one that went a bit high-end. Why? The talent. Among the autographs you can find here are Bryce Harper, Manny Machado, Francisco Lindor, Trevor Bauer, Sonny Gray, Kolten Wong, Jameson Taillon and Albert Almora. This box carries a pretty hefty discount but all those key autos are still in there.

It’s a simple piece of memorabilia, but it’s one that’s part of a collection lasting more than 60 years.
It’s the cover of Sports Illustrated and Arnold Palmer graces the cover of the latest issue.
“Arnie’s Army” is in mourning this evening.
Golf icon Arnold Palmer has died at age 87, leaving behind a legendary career and countless fans along with decades of memorabilia and memories. He’s heavily credited with helping the 
sport grow on television, for his personable demeanor, his countless businesses and, of course, his performances against rivals.
“We loved him with a mythic American joy,” his biographer, James Dodson, told GolfWeek. “He represented everything that is great about golf. The friendship, the fellowship, the laughter, the impossibility of golf, the sudden rapture moment that brings you back, a moment that you never forget, that’s Arnold Palmer in spades. He’s the defining figure in golf.”
He won seven majors and 62 tournaments in his career and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2004 — and even that can be found among his trading cards.
It’s no secret that Arnold Palmer is among the greats in golf history, but what’s been kept a secret over the years is his treasure trove of golf history that he’s held on to.
Callaway Golf calls it “The King’s Castle.”

This year’s National Sports Collectors Convention is set for Aug. 3-7 in Atlantic City, N.J., but that hasn’t stopped Upper Deck from revealing the first promotional cards that will only initially be found at the event.

A card show begins in Los Angeles tonight and lasts all the way until March 26 — and you have a shot at owning any and all of the superstars in attendance as long as you’re there early enough.
The difference? It’s at an art gallery — at Gallery 1988 (East) — and the cards are prints from California illustrator Cuyler Smith, whose focus is the biggest names in the sports world … err, the sports movie world.
Buzz caught up with Smith before his show, “Trading Cards,” opens with a reception tonight at 7 p.m.
Q: How did you happen to focus on cards and card-size art?
A: It all started when I made a card for a group show at Gallery 1988 focusing on the films of Tom Hanks. I knew I wanted to do something different and the baseball card was a perfect fit for A League of Their Own.

The first retail pulls from 2016 Topps have begun to hit eBay in advance of its widespread release on Wednesday and that means we get out first glimpses at the surprise inclusions in the First Pitch set.
A checklist has not been released for the insert set, but it appears that this year’s version will include golfer Jordan Spieth who has not had any official PGA cardboard despite dominating successes this past year.
