What’s buzz-worthy: We’ve got early word on what you should expect to find in blaster boxes and other formats at retail for this one.

The Basics: We’ll have more hobby details once this one is formally unveiled, but here’s what we know know for the retail front. There are one again exclusive memorabilia cards for retail and this year’s blasters will include five inserts rather than last year’s two or three. There will be retail-only Emerald parallels for this one, which arrives in advance of Optic on the retail schedule. Rookie Tickets will have autos for top rookies and parallels that include Playoff Tickets, Championship Tickets, Cracked Ice Tickets, Super Bowl Tickets and printing plates. Inked inserts will include Legendary Contenders, MVP Contenders, NFL Ink and Veteran Ticket cards. There will be 20 inserts per box in the 24-pack boxes (eight cards per pack, 20 boxes per case with a $2.99 suggested retail price per pack) with Emerald parallels also possible for these. Inserts will include Rookie of the Year Contenders, MVP Contenders, Legendary Contenders, Team Quads and Round Numbers. … Memorabilia cards in blasters also will include variations and dual-swatch cards. … There also will be jumbo packs ($4.99, 12 per box) that deliver the same amount of inserts per box as the standard wax.
