What’s Buzz-worthy: As said in a past break of this (I bought a few boxes), this brand is an odd one in that its flagship (non-Chrome) counterpart might arguably be stronger with a loaded autograph checklist. And yet this one is still stacked, too, but with fewer stars on the autograph checklist. There are just 10 autos in Chrome but it’s a crop that includes The Bella Twins, Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan, Lana, Lita, Roman Reigns and Renee Young. (Meanwhile, the standard set has Bray Wyatt, A.J. Lee, Emma, John Cena, Paige on her only autos, Seth Rollins, Ric Flair, Roddy Piper and Bret Hart.) Why might Chrome blasters be available at a discounted price? Frankly, because of lousy odds. While you get a Refractor in every pack that doesn’t include a Hogan or Sting insert card, any type of Refractor that’s not a standard one starts at one in 55 packs. The good news? There are Superfractors, printing plates, Kiss Cards and autographs found here, which is not necessarily the norm in past WWE blasters. The odds get pretty crazy in some instances — as high as one in 44,439 packs for one type of Relic Superfractor — but there are some interesting possibilities. This box is pretty bad, actually, with the only real highlights coming in the Refractors, but the overall product is a strong one with a good mix of old names and new. If you can land these blasters cheap and don’t mind some duds, grip ’em and rip ’em — but hobby boxes are definitely safer than what this box offered.
