What’s Buzz-worthy: This set is slightly smaller than its Season 3 predecessor but it still packs just as much energy and fun into these new boxes thanks in part to one huge autograph that’s potentially found in every box. It’s Arrow himself, Stephen Amell, whose first two certified autographs can be found in these boxes. Neither version was here, of course, but that chase will be one reason why these boxes move fast. This particular box did include a one per case silver CZ STR PWR insert, which was a plus, though it has some damage to the back from packaging. Everything delivered as it should have here — once again a complete set and all complete inserts save for those where it’s not close to possible. (You almost have to wonder if they could come up with a way for sets to be completed in, say, two boxes whether that could help get more rippers and add to values. Seems too easy here sometimes compared to sports world.) One big plus here vs. some past releases from Cryptozoic is that the inserts really stand out on their own from the base with designs that are obviously different but still jive with the feel of the overall product. The base set spreads highlights from 23 episodes over the 72-card set well with a good mix of standard scenes and hero scenes with different photos on the fronts and backs — that’s a lot of photos. All in all, Amell ink is the biggest — and it’s big — and most-obvious draw here but there’s plenty more to collect for fans of the show.
