Jim Stefano joins Goldin Auctions

Goldin Auctions has a new director of marketing and business development — and he comes from the trading card portion of the industry.

Jim Stefano will take on the role, according to Goldin Auctions founder Ken Goldin.

Stefano had spend the last four years as the senior director of product development at Panini America in Dallas, Texas. He previously worked seven years at Fleer/Skybox as its VP of product development and before that with Score Board and TRISTAR Productions.

“Jim’s broad experience in the sports collectibles industry, extensive relationships, marketing savvy and personal affinity for sports memorabilia makes him a great addition to our team,” Goldin said. “We know Jim will help us continue our rapid growth by developing innovative partnerships and marketing initiatives.”

More on the Runnymede, N.J.-based company can be found at GoldinAuctions.com.

According to a Panini employee, Stefano will be replaced by Nick Matijevich, who worked at Press Pass until joining Panini in early 2015. He had been the director of product and development for its NFL and NASCAR lines. The change has not yet been formally announced by the company.

Update (Aug. 17): Panini formally announced Matijevich’s new role while also noting that Rob Springs will head its NFL and soccer products and that Ben Ecklar will handle baseball, college and NASCAR products. David Porter will continue to oversee NBA and U.S. sticker projects, according to a company announcement.
