What’s Buzz-worthy: This retail-only first-year brand might be found in discount bins now in some places (this one was $15) and it’s worth considering if you like a brand with a good assortment of inserts and parallels, a meaty base set (200 basic cards, 100 short-printed rookies) and a guaranteed hit. The names in the insert lineup were strong and there was a deep roster of rookies in here, too, about the only drawback is the heavy border and nameplate on the base cards. (They’re designed to help make the diecut versions a bit stronger.) All in all, these boxes are meaty and deliver to this collector — and they might be tougher to find than some other brands from last season.
