What’s Buzz-worthy: Want to see the rare scenario where this collector would have been happy by not getting a 1/1 in a box? This might be it. Getting a Shane McMahon printing plate — it counts as a hit — meant I was only getting one autograph and that put all my eggs in a Roman Reigns basket. Not a bad auto but also not one I would have wanted. This is a WWE release that could be picking up steam with those breaking for hits with it typically yielding two on-card autographs per box and a simple (maybe too simple) assortment of inserts and parallels for a base set that highlights notable events in the last year of WWE. It’s a highlights set but this one is vastly improved compared to previous versions. I’d argue that it might be a stronger rip than the 2017 Topps Series 1 set simply since you typically get two on-card autos per box. (Flagship does a sticker auto and a Relic.) All in all, there were definitely worse boxes out there for this one — but this collector is buying for the ink and already ripped a few. That’s one more sign this box isn’t a bad set at all.
