What’s Buzz-worthy: Topps offers up this Walmart-exclusive product (which actually may be found at some other chain stores depending on their distributor) as a holiday gift to the hobby with a new set (numbering-wise) with a new touch and an autograph or Relic in every single box for just $19.98. Autographs will be found in roughly every 31st box so there will be Relics in most boxes, though there are auto parallels and autographed Relics, too. … You should find five parallels in every box, which means a one in 40 box shot at any particular name from the 200-card set. That should help the value for some of these un-numbered parallels. The regular cards simply have white snowflakes while the parallels have a glitter spot coating. … The basic set is full of notable rookies and name players, though there could be some surprises here and there, making it a pretty strong rip. … It’s a simple creation with some oomph here and there and some chase (see the checklist for the ink and Relics) so expect that these may not last long on store shelves. How many boxes will each store get? That’s another question that could make these compelling finds for baseball collectors at the retail aisle.
