What’s buzz-worthy: Panini’s sophomore release for Optic baseball cards includes the return of Mickey Mantle to packs for the first time under an exclusive deal.

The Basics: 
These boxes will include 25 inserts or parallels on top of the hits, which will include on-card autographs for top rookies. There also will be four Hot Boxes per case with two of those having five autographs and two of those including 20 numbered parallels. … Throwback card designs will include 1983, 1987, 1990, 1991 and 1993 Donruss designs with each of them numbered to no more than five copies per card. … Other autographs will include Retro Signatures and Back to the Future, while there will be 10 parallels of the rookie autos all numbered to no more than five copies. … Diamond Kings and Rated Rookies will be paralleled along with the rest of the 175-card base set. … Inserts will include Dominators with five parallels numbered to no more than 149 and All-Stars, which will use the 1983 All-Star design and also be limited to no more than 149. … These will carry a suggested retail price of $4 per pack ($80 per box).

Update (June 13): Panini has announced that this one will be sold out upon release and allocated “due to the overwhelming global market response” and because Aaron Judge has 49 different autographed cards in the product.
